Customer Care Technician (Maintenance Officer)

We are seeking a full-time Customer Care Technician to perform maintenance/defect repair works inside apartments and common areas for Hickory’s completed projects. Reporting to the Customer Care Manager, this position has a focus on quality customer service to the resident, apartment owners, or building services managers.

Some key accountabilities include but are not limited to:

Travel to apartments in the Melbourne CBD and inner metro suburbs to perform general maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting, tiling, plastering and water proofing to a high standard.
Coordinate, liaise, and oversee trades and subcontractors, ensuring an efficient service delivery and that defects/repairs are satisfactory completed.
Autonomously organise work flow on a daily/weekly to week basis, insuring productive work results.
Administration, such as raising and closing work orders within the designated timeframes and maintaining accurate job notes.
Ensure that safe work practices are adhered to at all times.

Ideally, we are seeking someone who has:

A trade background with hands on maintenance experience in painting, plastering, tiling, grouting, caulking, carpentry/joinery repairs and waterproofing.
Previous experience within a similar maintenance/handyperson position.
A valid  Australian driver’s license (mandatory).
Own tools for all trades works (specialist tools will be provided as will replacements for fair wear and tear).
Sound understanding of current OHS legislation and practices.
Knowledge of Australian Building Codes and how to apply the Standards and Tolerances as set by Victorian Building Association.
Able to build rapport quickly and easily with a diverse customer base.
Sound computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word.
Knowledge of systems such as Aconex or other building management/CRM software would be highly advantageous.
