Design Manager

With several large-scale developments in the works we are looking for a talented Design Manager to effectively manage the group design resources to achieve end to end design objectives of the development process.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Bid Team in winning contracts
  • Reviewing all tender documents, PPR, specifications & reports
  • Preparing risk & efficiency analysis of proposed designs
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of project and client requirements
  • Conducting architectural design reviews and identifying any opportunities/efficiencies or risks. Preparing design change proposals and drawings.
  • Undertaking a comprehensive Value Add & Value Management assessment of the design documentation and preparing a VM proposal, including associated cut sheets and diagrams
  • Liaising with subcontractors to extract technical VM initiatives
  • Liaising with construction teams for input as required, and preparing logistics plans for submission
  • Preparing other visual presentation aids or models as required
  • Preparing Tender Interview presentations and attending tender meetings



Ideally, we are looking for someone who has:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or similar
  • Minimum 5 years’+ Experience in a Design Management
  • Experience specifically within the field of Architecture
  • Commercial documentation experience on medium to high density projects
  • Fluent in the use/management of BIM models
  • Experience in chairing/participating in commercial design meetings
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver strategic objectives and to demonstrate commercial judgement
  • High level communication (verbal and written), consultation and general interpersonal skills
  • High level negotiation and problem solving skills
