POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented New Business Manager to spearhead our business development initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, fostering key client relationships, and contributing to the overall growth and success of Hickory.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Research and Analysis
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients in the commercial construction sector.
  • Analyze competitor activities and market dynamics to develop effective business strategies.
Lead Generation and Conversion 
  • Proactively identify and cultivate new business leads through networking, industry events, and other strategic channels.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential projects and clients.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to convert leads into successful business partnerships.
Client Relationship Management
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key clients and other stakeholders in the industry.
  • Understand client needs and collaborate with the project team to tailor solutions that exceed expectations.
Proposal Development
  • Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations tailored to potential clients.
  • Work closely with the estimating and project management teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
Contract Negotiation
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate with legal and senior management to finalize and execute contracts.
Strategic Planning
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Identify and peruse new market segments and expansion opportunities.
Reporting and Analysis
  • Provide regular reports on business development activities, progress, and key performance indicators.
  • Analyze the success and efficiency of various strategies and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

 

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of success in business development within the commercial construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of the Melbourne construction market and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
