Construction has ramped up at Tim Gurner’s latest Melbourne project, Victoria and Vine, with the first tower crane now installed.
The $280 million development, dubbed the ‘building of buildings’, is located in Collingwood, north-east of Melbourne’s CBD, and is an impressive 5000sqm site sprawled across an entire suburban block.
Construction for the site is now well underway, with builders, Hickory, recently completing the three-level basement excavation dig and moving onto the next phase of the build.
Hickory Managing Director, George Abraham, said: “Having recently completed the demolition of the Collingwood site, Hickory are excited to be progressing the next stage of construction for Victoria and Vine.”
“Excavation has been completed in the first of three zones, and prep work has begun for the first concrete slab pour, with construction progressing on schedule,” he said.
With the project well on course to be completed by late 2021, attention now turns to acquiring world-class hospitality and retail operators to help put Victoria and Vine firmly at the forefront of Collingwood’s culinary renaissance.
