RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with contractors to identify and manage high-risk activities throughout the project stages by planning ahead and coordinating works activities effectively.
  • Monitor and assess Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to health and safety.
  • Review and evaluate health and safety implications as they arise during project execution.
  • Develop and implement reporting and communication structures to accurately assess and evaluate performance.
  • Actively engage in day-to-day health and safety management through participation in meetings, training workshops, daily briefings, management reviews, site walks, and prestart meetings.
  • Attend planning and coordination reviews for both short-term and long-term safety planning.
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of health and safety planning by assessing communication between contractors and subcontractor site teams.
  • Conduct independent health and safety audits covering all aspects of construction management, including compliance monitoring, coordination of work activities, risk assessment, training, and competency assessment.
  • Assess accidents, incidents, and near-miss reports, and monitor the implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
  • Continuously assess the resources provided by contractors to support the implementation of their safety management program.
  • Encourage and promote health and safety initiatives to foster positive safety behaviors.
  • Encourage contractor participation in structured health and safety awards schemes.
  • Report to and take direction from the client and their designated representatives.
  • Advise, report, and monitor compliance with client security requirements, including developing photo and video authorization procedures, authorizing rights, and ensuring physical site security measures.
  • Provide advice and review emergency drills, including documenting and following up on non-conformance actions.
  • Manage the ordering of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

 

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE
  • Proficiency in Hammertech and other HSE construction technologies.
  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS, or a Diploma in WHS, or Cert IV WHS with relevant experience, or a trade background.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Extensive track record in effectively communicating with contractors and liaising with project teams and industry professionals.
  • Advanced documentation management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of workplace safety legislation.
  • Experience in data center construction.
