POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our Estimating team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and gain exposure to a wide range of construction projects that help shape Australia’s built environment. You’ll work closely with senior estimators and project teams to support the preparation of accurate and competitive tenders.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supplier & Subcontractor Engagement: Assist with obtaining and reviewing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors. Help maintain strong relationships and support negotiations to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Cost Estimation: Support the preparation of cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Bid Preparation: Assist in preparing tender submissions and bid documentation that align with project and client requirements.
  • Project Coordination: Work closely with the broader estimating and project teams to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
  • Learning & Development: Gain hands-on experience with estimation software, industry processes, and cost planning under the guidance of senior estimators.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay proactive in learning about construction methods, market trends, and cost data to enhance your estimating knowledge.

 

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE
  • Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1+ years’ experience in the construction industry in an Estimating Assistant or similar role.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software is an advantage.
