POSITION OVERVIEW
As a key member of the project delivery team, the Services Engineer plays a crucial role in managing all building services activities from design coordination through to commissioning and handover. You will act as a key interface between design consultants, subcontractors, and site teams, ensuring all services are integrated seamlessly within the broader construction program. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to problem solving, strong technical knowledge in services, and the ability to drive coordination, quality, and performance across all stages of delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and manage the design and delivery of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire and other building services across design and construction phases.
- Review services documentation to ensure compliance, buildability and alignment with project requirements.
- Lead coordination between structural, architectural and services trades to resolve clashes and maintain programme momentum.
- Manage procurement of key services packages, including tender processes, contract negotiations and cost control.
- Oversee quality assurance to ensure installations meet specification, safety and performance standards.
- Develop and manage commissioning programmes, witness testing and completion documentation.
- Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to achieve project milestones.
- Maintain safety, environmental and statutory compliance across all services activities.
- Contribute to value engineering initiatives and demonstrate strong commercial awareness of design, including value management strategies, cost planning and variation assessment.
- Provide regular reporting on services progress, risks and coordination outcomes to senior stakeholders.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in building services coordination within commercial construction projects.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical and or electrical systems, design documentation and commissioning processes.
- Demonstrated commercial awareness, including cost planning, value management initiatives and variation assessment.
- Proven ability to liaise effectively with consultants, subcontractors and construction teams to drive coordinated outcomes.
- Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in interpreting services drawings and experienced in coordination platforms such as BIM and Revit.
