THE OPPORTUNITY
The Site Manager at Hickory plays a crucial role in ensuring the flawless execution of construction projects, prioritizing excellence, safety, and client satisfaction. This role requires a diverse skill set, including site safety management, project planning, and adherence to The Hickory Way®. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Planning and Scheduling: Plan and schedule works, ensuring coordination between various tasks and timelines within the project.
- Subcontractor Coordination and Communication: Facilitate communication and alignment with subcontractors, ensuring the clear exchange of project specifications and prompt responses to Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Client and Stakeholder Liaison: Engage and coordinate with clients, superintendents, consultants and various stakeholders to ensure project progress, address concerns and relay essential project updates.
- Adherence to Project Specifications and Drawings: Ensure on-site activities align with project specifications and drawings, maintaining adherence to contractual requirements and quality standards.
- Subcontractor Coordination and Progress Reporting: Manage and coordinate subcontractor and trade contractor activities, ensuring they align with project goals and oversee the accurate placement of construction components.
- Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Compliance Oversight: Oversee compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards, conducting toolbox talks and managing on-site safety practices to ensure a safe work environment.
- Industrial Relations Management: Manage all Industrial Relations matters, staying updated on legislation and promptly communicating issues to relevant stakeholders to ensure adherence to labour laws.
- Quality: Maintain project quality levels, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and Hickory’s quality expectations.
- Site Administration Oversight: Supervise and manage all site administration activities, ensuring the accuracy, organization and up-to-date maintenance of project documentation.
- Coordination and Documentation Processing: Facilitate efficient coordination among site staff, ensuring the prompt and accurate processing of necessary paperwork.
- Resource Optimisation: Efficiently manage on-site resources, ensuring their effective utilisation and alignment with project timelines.
- Site Logistics Optimisation: Optimise site logistics for the efficient movement of materials, personnel and equipment I order to minimise congestion, streamline workflows and enhance overall site organization.
- Regulatory Compliance Audits: Conduct regular audits to ensure ongoing compliance with building regulations, safety standards and environmental requirements and address any identified non-compliance issues promptly and efficiently.
- Budget Management: Exercise financial oversight by managing and controlling the project budget by monitoring expenditures, track costs and identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality and safety.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Site Manager role in the commercial construction industry.
- Preferred experience in the construction of data centers.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects with a focus on safety, quality and on-time delivery.
- Proven ability to manage relationships with various stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, regulatory authorities and local communities.
- Extensive experience in HSE compliance, risk management and industrial relations within construction.
- Hands-on experience in managing construction projects in complex environments, such as urban areas, occupied spaces, or projects with intricate architectural designs.
