POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Structure Site Supervisor to join our team, delivering a landmark mixed-use development in Fitzroy, circa $250M in value. This role will be integral to Hickory’s in-house structure team, overseeing the successful delivery of all structural works including formwork, reinforcement, and concrete activities. Working closely with internal crews and project stakeholders, you will play a key role in driving program, quality, and productivity. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong formwork background and a deep understanding of high-rise structural sequencing and delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Structural Delivery Oversight: Manage and supervise all structural works on site, including formwork, reinforcement, and concrete pours, ensuring alignment with project program and design requirements.
- Daily Site Coordination: Plan and coordinate daily structural activities in line with the overall construction program, working closely with the Site Manager and project team.
- In-House Workforce Management: Lead and coordinate Hickory’s self-perform structure teams, ensuring productivity, quality, and adherence to program.
- Programming & Sequencing: Actively contribute to short-term programming and lookaheads, ensuring efficient sequencing of structural works on a high-rise project.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain strict quality control across all structural elements, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and Hickory standards.
- Safety Leadership: Drive a strong safety culture on site, ensuring all structural activities are carried out in accordance with HSEQ requirements and best practice.
- Resource Management: Efficiently manage labour, plant, and materials specific to structural works to optimise productivity and minimise downtime.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise closely with engineers, consultants, and internal teams to resolve structural design or construction challenges.
- Variation & Issue Management: Identify and escalate any structural-related variations or risks to the Project Manager or Construction Manager.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide leadership, coaching, and development to site teams, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE
- Strong Structural Background: Minimum 5+ years’ experience in commercial construction, with a strong focus on structural works in high-rise environments.
- Formwork Expertise: Proven background in formwork systems and methodologies, with the ability to manage complex structural builds.
- High-Rise Experience: Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale, multi-storey or high-rise projects.
- Technical Understanding: Strong knowledge of structural sequencing, temporary works, and concrete construction practices.
- Leadership Capability: Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced site environment, driving performance and accountability.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of a project team.
- Problem Solving: Ability to proactively identify and resolve construction challenges, particularly in complex structural environments.
- Qualifications: Trade background (Carpentry/Formwork) or tertiary qualification in Construction Management or similar highly regarded.
