The recent announcement by Development Victoria confirming planning approval for Fitzroy Gasworks Parcels B and C marks a major milestone for one of Melbourne’s most important urban renewal projects.
As Development Partner, we’re proud to be working alongside Milieu and Assemble, and in partnership with Development Victoria and Nightingale. Together, we’re committed to delivering a precinct that reflects the needs and values of the community it serves, while providing much‑needed diverse housing, including more than 20 percent dedicated to affordable homes.
Fitzroy Gasworks offers a rare opportunity to reimagine a historic inner‑city site and shape it into a connected, sustainable neighbourhood. The precinct includes a new school, already open and supporting local families, along with flexible and activated open spaces designed to bring residents together and foster community.
Led by Hickory’s Head of Property, Zoran Trimcevski, our development team is focused on ensuring the project’s master planning, design and delivery reflect our commitment to thoughtful design, technical excellence and creating enduring places.
This milestone also reflects Hickory’s growing development capability and the way our teams work collaboratively with project partners to help deliver complex, large‑scale urban renewal projects.
“This milestone highlights our growing development capability at Hickory, with our teams integrating seamlessly and working closely with our Development Partners on large, complex urban renewal projects. We are excited to progress through the design and planning phases and look forward to being part of this vital housing initiative as the project comes to life.”
Thank you and congratulations to the project team. Your collaboration and dedication have helped achieve this milestone, and we look forward to the work ahead.
