Acting today for a better tomorrow – promoting wellness around Hickory

In the lead-up to the end of the year,  Health is always at the forefront of our priorities. We believe that Health and Wellness should be dedicated to more than one specific day, it’s a continuous cycle of checking in and highlighting areas of importance.
Over the last two months, Hickory has coordinated a series of wellness activations for collective groups within the business, topics such as gender diversity, resilience, and nutritional health were the centre of conversation for the 2022 Wellness Campaign.
Take a look at how our community participated below.

TARGETING RESILIENCE

Part of continuously developing our People means providing techniques to enable them to thrive in a range of environments. This includes learning how to thrive under pressure, release tension and gain resilience. Lumber punks Axe Throwing was the perfect spot for our Graduate and Cadet cohort to connect at the end of the week and build on their ability to excel in high-pressure environments.

HEALTHY BODY, HEALTHY MIND WITH DALEY NUTRITION

Adequate nutrition plays a major role in the health and well-being of our body and mind at all stages of life.  A crucial part of raising standards at Hickory is improving the process, enhancing the method and refining techniques – all actions are not possible without a healthy mind to feed us ideas.

There are many benefits to a balanced diet, most of which enable us to perform at our best with increased sleep, improved energy levels, and overall daily function. We invited Daley Nutrition into the Head Office to run a cooking demonstration and nutritional health seminar, staff had the opportunity to seek advice, recommendations and learn new recipes to increase their personal and workplace wellness.

WOMEN EMPOWERING WOMEN, A NIGHT WITH HICKORY

Having strong support networks alongside respect and understanding allows for our community to empower all.  Bringing our female employees together in a private setting to champion gender diversity welcomes all to strive for excellence in the construction and property industry.  Our guest panel featured female leaders within Hickory and a Q&A style panel with Denita Wawn, CEO of Master Builders and George Abraham.
