Michael Perdikaris
Director - Asset Renewal and Upgrades
Michael joined Hickory in 2011 and has since delivered some of its most iconic and technically complex projects. A career highlight is the transformation of the Chadstone precinct, a landmark mixed-use development spanning the MGallery Hotel, the Chadstone Link walkway and major carpark upgrades, all built in a live retail environment across a wide network of stakeholders.
Driven by a passion for sustainability and adaptive reuse, Michael launched Hickory's H-Adapt division, now AR&U (Asset Renewal & Upgrades). As Director, he leads the renewal of existing buildings, cutting environmental impact, extending asset life and unlocking new value in the built environment.
Steve Cahill
Pre-Construction Manager
Steve has spent more than a decade at Hickory delivering complex, large-scale projects across Melbourne's residential, commercial and adaptive reuse sectors, from the refurbishment of a 150-year-old heritage-listed hotel in the CBD to Hickory's first data centre. Rising from Project Manager to Construction Manager, he led landmark projects including Hawthorn Park, home to Melbourne's first sky pool. Time in the UK added large-scale residential work and the upgrade of an existing government housing estate to his experience.
Now Pre-Construction Manager, Steve draws on that delivery experience to shape complex early contractor involvement (ECI) projects and pre-start strategies for customers, setting projects up for success before ground is broken.
James Mills
Senior Design Manager
James brings more than 25 years of experience in the design and delivery of mid-size, large and landmark projects across eastern Australia and Southeast Asia. Before joining Hickory, he was a Principal at Fender Katsalidis, where he worked on two of Melbourne's most iconic towers, Eureka Tower and Australia 108. He also led schematic design, town planning and the D&C tender for the Midnight Hotel in Canberra.
Working closely with stakeholders, councils and consultants from early design through to town planning and marketing, James balances feasibility with urban vision. At Hickory, that experience shapes both the design and the delivery of every project.
Matt Bready
Senior Project Manager
Matt is a Senior Project Manager in Hickory's Asset Renewal & Upgrades (AR&U) division. He brings more than 30 years of experience leading large, complex builds across the commercial, residential and mixed-use sectors. He manages the full project lifecycle, from early planning, design coordination and procurement through to stakeholder engagement and on-site delivery, steering large consultant and subcontractor teams with a calm, hands-on approach.
On site, Matt champions safety, efficiency and accountability, and he is committed to mentoring the next generation of construction professionals.
Abraham Karim
Project Manager
Abraham is a Project Manager in Hickory's Asset Renewal & Upgrades (AR&U) division. He has been delivering complex, large-scale projects across Victoria and New South Wales since 2011, including the $220 million Scape 99 student accommodation, the $90 million Younghusband Wool Store redevelopment and the $76 million DHHS Ascot Vale social housing project. On these builds he led multidisciplinary teams, managed design coordination and oversaw structural, façade and external works.
Moving from engineering and site operations into project management, he has delivered high-pressure builds including AirTrunk MEL01 and MEL02 and the 140 William Street redevelopment, holding programme through complex stakeholder environments.
Abraham holds a Bachelor of Building (Construction Management) from Victoria University, a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from RMIT and a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
Youstina Iskandar
Contracts Manager
Youstina is a Contracts Manager in Hickory's Asset Renewal & Upgrades (AR&U) division, helping deliver complex refurbishment and repurposing projects that give new life to ageing and underutilised buildings. With a background in architecture, she brings technical fluency and a process-driven approach to contract management from tender through to delivery.
Her work spans subcontractor packages, variations and RFIs, cost tracking and budget alignment, keeping documentation coordinated, compliant and on time. Working closely with clients, consultants, site teams and subcontractors, she keeps every stage of the build aligned as site conditions evolve.
