The Queensbridge Building has been recognised at the 2026 The Urban Developer Awards, winning the Excellence in Construction Innovation award.
The National awards event, held at the Gold Coasts, Star Casino, recognised winners from more than 200 finalists across 26 categories, showcasing projects from adaptive reuse of landmark commercial buildings and AI-powered planning platforms to major mixed-use precincts, residential, community infrastructure and emerging models of urban renewal.
The project introduced an industry-first moulded precast podium façade system. Fully completed panels were manufactured offsite and installed in a single lift, cutting crane time, labour and safety risk while speeding up delivery. The result is a faster build and a standout architectural feature that sets the project apart. The judges recognised an innovative approach that scales, with benefits reaching well beyond this one site.
An outcome like this only works with control from end to end. Our precast structures team in Laverton worked hand in hand with our façade teams here and overseas, all coordinated by our site project team under Harry James-Malos, who accepted the award on the night. The panels were designed, moulded and finished before they reached site, then lifted into place in a single move. Less time on the crane. Fewer people working at height. A cleaner, safer, faster install. That is our self-performance model doing what it was built to do — managing the whole process, start to finish, in-house.
When we own the process — structures, façades, manufacturing and install — we can attempt things others can’t. The people who design a system and the people who build it work under one roof. That’s what made an industry-first possible at Queensbridge, and it’s the same capability we bring to every project.
