Newly contracted Yarra One project breaks ground

Hickory and Ecoworld-Salcon Y1 Pty Ltd broke ground today on the new 27 storey apartment tower, Yarra One in South Yarra’s renowned Forrest Hill precinct.

Today’s ground breaking ceremony marks the next phase in the development of the residential apartments, designed by renowned architects Fender Katsalidis. Ecoworld International president and CEO Datuk Teow Leong Seng Teow said the groundbreaking ceremony is a major achievement for EWI, and is the first of many iconic projects it hopes to develop in Melbourne.

Joining in the milestone celebrations, were representatives from Hickory Group, Fender Katsalidis, Project Managers, WT Partnership, Webber Design and the Mayor of Stonnington, Cr Steve Stefanopoulos.

Yarra One comprises 256 apartments and will feature an open-air atrium connecting Claremont street to Daly street, and a three-level co-working space that is said to be a first in Australian residential buildings. Carefully chosen materials such as natural stone, timber frames and lush greenery will add to the atrium’s warm atmosphere which will serve as a space for residents and the public to enjoy.

The building has been designed with the health and wellness of its residents in mind with luxurious five-star hotel style amenities such as a fitness studio and yoga room, two terrace spas, kitchen and dining room, library lounge and communal rooftop bbq and fireplace.

All apartments have also been designed for entertaining, each featuring a private terrace, as well as finely crafted finishes and features.

With a 25 month construction programme, the project is due for completion in July 2020.
