Affordable housing options near Cockburn are being built in as little as 10 days, according to modular builder Hickory Group, which has started the assembly of a six-storey building with 77 apartments.
The Melbourne-based group said using prefabricated materials allowed for a faster build, allowing construction that began this week to be completed by next week.
The apartment building, called Adara, is the latest addition to an existing affordable housing community Stella Village in Success, near the Cockburn Central train station and Cockburn Gateway shopping centre.
When the Adara apartments are completed there will be a total of 436 apartments within the Stella Village community.
Goodland Building Company subcontracted Hickory to build the Adara apartments, which will have one and two bedrooms.
