Featured in realestate.com.au: Construction has begun on Arden Gardens

A LANDMARK residential and retail development with almost 300 apartments, a Woolworths supermarket, communal garden and two cinemas is emerging in North Melbourne.

Construction on the Arden Gardens precinct has started, and by mid-2019 it will feature 299 apartments across two residential towers.

A podium will house the supermarket, a cafe and 15 other retail outlets.

Developer Arden Gardens North Melbourne has joined forces with architect The Buchan Group and builders Hickory Group on the unique triangle-shaped design, which will front Macaulay Rd, Canning St and Vaughan Tce.

Sales consultant Anthony Wong said the development was unlike any other, with additional features including a common entertaining space, a gym and a viewing deck offering a brilliant outlook across the city skyline, Docklands and the Melbourne Star ferris wheel.

“It is a premium site, a unique design, with residential, retail and communal facilities that are second to none,” he said.

Arden Gardens will offer 68 unique floorplans, all with luxury, open-plan living and most with two balconies. Mr Wong said some would offer courtyards.

“When people think of apartments they think of shoeboxes in a skyscraper with a cold atmosphere, but with this development it offers townhouse-style living with courtyards larger than some houses in the area,” he said.

“They may have a 10sq m courtyard but the courtyards here, leading into the communal garden, might be 50sq m.”

The apartments will be finished with Miele appliances and stone benchtops in the kitchen, 100 per cent wool loop pile carpet, engineered timber floorboards, and porcelain tiles and black matt tapware in the bathrooms.
