The state government is being advised by a select group of business leaders about where it can ease COVID-19 restrictions on industry without risking workplace outbreaks, as it appears many of Melbourne’s stage four restrictions are likely to stay to the end of the month.

The Victorian COVID Advisory Group, chaired by businessman Paul Little, was quietly established last month with a direct report to Treasurer Tim Pallas, reflecting a willingness by government to consult more widely on how to reboot the state’s stalled economy.
