When the Hickory team working on the Istana project were asked by the adjacent Radisson hotel for a favour – their roof chiller was in urgent need of replacement and they required a crane to lift it – the team gladly offered their assistance. Always willing to help a neighbour in need, the Istana team generously donated their time to assist with replacing the chiller, saving time and money for the hotel.
In appreciation of their efforts the Radisson donated a nights accommodation including dinner, drinks, valet parking and breakfast, valued at well over $500 dollars.
Istana management decided to raffle off the accommodation package to site staff, with the proceeds to go to OzChild.
The fundraiser was a great success, raising over $2000 in a little over a week. The Hickory directors happily matched the $2k, and on Tuesday 18th March Mark Powell from OzChild came to morning smoko to be presented with the funds.
The donation will help OzChild to contune their work assisting vulnerable and at-risk children and families.
